How the calculator works
The calculator derives a peak crew size from the contract value, schedule and sector.
- Baseline productivity:
$18,500 of contract value per worker per month. Sector multipliers: commercial 1.0, infrastructure 0.85, industrial 1.15, public 1.0. - Peak crew = (contract value ÷ productivity ÷ schedule) × sector multiplier × 1.4 (peak factor).
- Supervisors = peak crew × 0.1; engineers = peak crew × 0.05; safety = peak crew × 0.03.
- Cranes = ceil(peak crew ÷ 50); excavators = ceil(peak crew ÷ 17); telehandlers = ceil(peak crew ÷ 25).
- Total hours = peak crew × 180 × schedule; peak monthly hours = peak crew × 180.
Estimates use typical productivity ratios for each plant type. Your project team confirms the plan at tender.
